COVID 19 UPDATE from the surgery - 25/03/2020


Thank you for all your social distancing efforts. This is so important in halting the spread of the pandemic and allowing our NHS services to cope.


In order to comply with this, our surgery doors are now locked. Chickerell surgery is temporarily closed.


You may drop off your prescription requests in the letter box outside the surgery still. Please provide the surgery with a nominated chemist to send it to as you will not be able to collect scripts from the surgery. There are forms left outside each surgery to provide a nominated chemist.

Pharmacies are under immense pressure at the moment so please allow as much time as possible before collection.

Repeat Prescriptions

To provide a safe and speedy service all prescriptions are computerised. If you are on regular medication, you will have a printout of all your medications.

When you require a repeat prescription, and you have your repeat medication printout, please hand this in either at your local pharmacy (of choice) or to the surgery.  Printouts can be posted to the practice, but if you require it to be returned in the post a stamped addressed envelope is required.

Please ensure the appropriate medication is ticked on your printout.

If you do not have your printout please ask the pharmacy/surgery reception staff for a slip for you to write down the medications you are requesting. 

Please allow 48 hours before collection excluding weekends.

Alternatively, if you register for Systmonline you can request your medication online via the link at the top of this page. Please bring two forms of identification to either surgery, one photo and one recent utility bill and ask at reception for further details about this service.

For safety reasons prescription requests cannot be accepted by telephone as this may lead to mistakes (some drugs have similar names and an error can easily occur).


Most local chemists operate a collection service from the surgery. Please inform us which chemist your prescription is to be sent to. If your prescriptions are sent to a local pharmacy, please allow up to a week to collect it.

Medication Reviews

At the bottom of your repeat prescription list you will notice a review date. When you reach this date it is time to make an appointment to have your medicines reviewed by a member of the practice team, usually your GP or in some circumstances one of the nurses. It is important you attend to have a medication review as failure to do so could result in a delay in you receiving your medication. You will also find your named GP on the bottom of your prescription.
